World Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival for “Ultimatum”

June 4th was the world premiere of Ultimatum, the new short film by Jean-Luc and Desirée Mwepu, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Co-directed and co-written by siblings Jean-Luc Mwepu and Desirée Mwepu, the film follows Saran as she faces the final opportunity to enter the prestigious Royal Ballet School. As the selection process unfolds, she meets Soleil. What begins as rivalry slowly turns into solidarity, as both realize the deeper structures shaping their chances of belonging.

Set within an institution defined by rigid ideals of appearance and exclusivity, Ultimatum explores identity, pressure, and the quiet strength found in shared experience.
