New director Gabriel Gezaw

We are proud and excited to welcome Gabriel Gezaw to the Fanny & Alexander family. Joining us as a director, Gabriel brings a sharp visual eye, a distinctive narrative voice, and a creative presence we are truly excited to collaborate with.

Gabriel is a filmmaker whose work spans fiction, commercial projects, and music videos. With a background in both narrative storytelling and branded content, he is known for combining raw human emotion with bold, cinematic language. His work is grounded, honest, and visually striking.

Gabriel is a natural storyteller with a strong instinct for character and atmosphere.
He is comfortable working across a range of production scales, from intimate short films to large commercial sets.
He remains calm and adaptive on set, often turning unexpected challenges into creative opportunities.

Gabriel’s creative process is rooted in empathy and curiosity. His stories often explore identity, community, and everyday complexity with a personal and poetic touch. He has a talent for adjusting on the fly and making the most of a moment. Whether due to last-minute changes or tight parameters, Gabriel consistently finds ways to elevate a project without losing its core.

Gabriel will be working across fiction and commercial formats at Fanny & Alexander. He is passionate about both. In commercials, he thrives in the collaborative energy and problem-solving pace. In fiction, he enjoys the freedom to shape deeper, more personal narratives. In every format, his focus remains the same — telling stories that feel honest and emotionally real.
